MONTE BELLO ISLANDS

Come and fish the remote Montebello Islands with Blue Water Adventure Charters on our fully equipped 65 foot charter vessel the Glenalan. The Montebello islands are situated 240 kms north of Exmouth and the waters surrounding the islands are full of fish and a diverse range of marine life. Being a full live aboard charter vessel means we get to go where ever we want, which means you get to anchor and explore different areas of the island group everyday. So you get to see all of the Monte Bellos with us in style. So whether it’s fishing the inside the islands or the offshore reefs, you are going to have an awesome fishing Adventure.

ITINERARY

Charters start 2pm Sundays at the Exmouth Marina.

  • Sunday
    Arrive at vessel at 2pm and the 65 foot ‘Glenalan’ will be ready for boarding at 2pm at the Exmouth Marina, Madaffarri Drive Exmouth. Once everyone is settled and a safety brief is complete we will depart Exmouth for Serrurier Island, where we will anchor for the night. Enjoy your evening meal and icy cold beers while sitting back in the remote areas off WA on the Glenalan, feel free to wet a line tonight.
  • Monday
    Departing anchorage very early in the morning, our on board cook will prepare your hearty cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausages and toast. We will fish our way to the Montebello's trolling at along the way for Spanish mackerel and over to Penguin Bank to chase up a few sailfish. We will then fish our way up to Barrow Island chasing all the usual bottom species such as Red Emperor, Spangled Emperor, Rankin Cod and Coral Trout plus heaps more. Lunch is served in between fishing sessions. After a full days fishing we will anchor for the night amongst the Monte Bellos where our on board cook will serve your dinner. Enjoy the evening with your mates, and an icy cold beer.
  • Tuesday
    Up early for a cooked breakfast and off Fishing!! Get ready for another awesome day of bottom fishing and working the top for pelagic action of Mackerel and Sailfish. Take a quick break for lunch, then it’s back to fishing. Enjoy the evening, relaxing on the Glenalan, the beers are cold and your freshly caught fish has been professionally filleted, Vacuum sealed and frozen for you.
  • Wednesday
    Pretty much like yesterday, it’s all about the fishing. Chasing Big Reds, Rankins, Trout and Spangled Emperor as well as a Spanish Mackerel or two. After another hard days fishing its back to the calm anchorage at the island group were all you have to do is sit back and relax.
  • Thursday
    After breakfast, the action begins again!! We can fish out wide for Demersal species or stay and fish inside the island group using our 2 x 5m Haines Signature Tenders with 60hp Suzuki outboards to get you to places fast. You can throw poppers and stick baits for GT’s and fish the shallows for a many different species.
  • Friday
    Our last day, another cooked breakfast and we head out and fish our way back to Exmouth for an approx.. ETA of 5pm back at the Exmouth Marina. Dinner is not supplied tonight; we recommend a taxi ride into town for a selection of food locations. You are able to stay on board the vessel tonight and depart by 8am Saturday morning.
  • Saturday
    Please depart the boat by 8am. Your fish will be vacuum sealed, frozen and packed into your eskies for you to take with you.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • How many on the charter?
    Maximum of 8 passengers. Plus Skipper, Cook and deckhand.
  • What is supplied on the charter?
    All fishing gear, ice, bait, tackle and trolling lures. Ice for drinks. All main meals, tea/coffee, drinking water and on board accommodation. Alcohol is BYO.
  • What do you need to bring on the charter?
    Sleeping bag, toiletries, towel, alcohol, , soft drinks, snacks (i.e. lollies and chocolate.) and sunscreen. Please also bring along an esky and leave it in your car for when the charter has finished for your fish.
  • What clothing should I pack?
    Please pack your belongings into a light soft bag – no suitcases. We suggest you pack for warmer/hot weather but pack a jumper just in case. Don't forget your hat, thongs and sunscreen.
  • What time do I get to board the vessel on Sunday?
    Arrival time/boarding time is 2pm. Once all clients are boarded, the vessel will depart the marina.
  • What type of food is provided?
    Breakfast - is varied but consists of a selection on the following bacon, eggs, cereal and toast. We do a hot breakfast every day and Lunch is sandwiches or wraps with cold meats and salads. Morning tea is fruit and other light snacks such as potato chips etc.. Afternoon Tea – Cheese Platter Dinner - is mostly Fish with salads and bread. However we do a steak night, chicken night, curry night and or pasta night. But mainly its fish that has been caught during the day and is cooked that night .
  • Where do I sleep?
    The Glenalan has 3 main airconditioned cabins with differing bedding configurations in each allowing everyone to have a large single bunk.
  • Fishing gear is supplied?
    Quality fishing gear supplied such as Shimano Saragosa’s spooled up with top quality 50 pound Braid and varied sized Shimano Tiagra trolling reels. We supply trolling lures and bait.
  • Can I bring my own tackle?
    You can bring your own rods and tackle. We do not supply jigs, soft plastics or poppers.
  • What’s the fish regulation?
    All fish caught must comply with all Dept of Fisheries rules and regulations; fish bag limits currently 20kg fillets in Pilbara zone.
  • Alcohol Information
    If you need a large order, let the Blue Water office know and we can order at the local Bottle shop and arrange delivery to the boat before you arrive. You will need to pay the Liquor Store direct prior to you charter.
  • Airport Information
    The airport is Exmouth/Learmonth which is about 40 minutes drive from the Exmouth marina jetty. Only Qantas operates flights to Exmouth. . Flights are daily and we recommend you book your additional 20kg baggage when booking your flights.
  • Airport Transfers
    We recommend you book your airport transfer with Exmouth Bus Charter tel 99494623 or a/h 0429091922 exmouthbuscharter@westnet.com.au. The fee is approx.. $35 each way and the bus will drop you to the Exmouth Marina, Madaffari Drive Exmouth. Please also book your return transfer, the bus generally collects you from the Marina.
  • Eskies
    We do encourage you to bring your own esky and leave it in your car at Exmouth. However if you are flying or have need an esky, we can purchase some for you on the Saturday morning and your fish which has been frozen will be placed in your esky for your return trip. Approx. $10 per esky.
  • Car Parking
    We leave our cars at the Exmouth Marina and have done so for many years, and have never had any issues.

and we will email you a booking info pack. You can book the whole boat for a minimum price of 8 persons or you can book
just yourself to join a mixed group.  All we need is your Name, email address and phone number at this stage.

  • How much deposit to book?
    All we need is a $500 deposit per person to secure your booking,
  • When is the balance due?
    The balance payable 60 days before your charter. You will be issued with an invoice in which you can pay using credit card via pay pal(incurs a 3% surcharge to be added to you invoice) or via EFT
  • What happens the week before my trip?
    The week before your charter, you will receive an email to finalise the charter. We will ask for an emergency contact and to confirm if you have any food allergies. A couple of days before your trip, we will also call you to see if you have any questions.
